Hi Paul… No, I don’t have synesthetic color connections with numbers or days of the week. I think that since DAWs like ProTools enable color-coding, I’ve just developed my preferences over various projects. Some of them make sense (brass and acoustic guitars feel orange and wood-ish), and some of them are connected by proximity in the color wheel, but others have just been assigned. I don’t feel like ANYTHING sounds bright green, but vocals definitely feel light-blue (airy) and glockenspiels/celestes feel yellow (bright).
Yellow is the worst color to edit with, so I suppose if I had a heavy glock track, those would find a different temporary color during the editing phase.
