A friend just texted me the photo on the left in the new issue of Wired magazine this month. It looks a little bit similar to the artwork I did for the Fray’s record, right?
Check out these beautiful shots of the Son Lux cover art that Marke & I did a couple months ago. Always super-exciting to see the final physical packaging come together. Love me that disc color, yes I do!
THING OF BEAUTY.
Just look how nice these CDs look, thanks to the Made Shop. Can’t wait for the LIMITED-EDITION 180g COLORED VINYL!
Come to my Album Release Show on 6/28 at Public Assembly in Brooklyn and get one from my personal stash
The CD tray gives me a serious case of the Mickey Mouse. Not ideal, but whatever.
Check out the Made Shop’s site for some incredible b-roll from the shoot, and then hire them.
I mentioned earlier that our buddies in The Fray are opening for U2 this Saturday and I’ve decided to post a few (previously unseen) images from our cover shoots during the lead-up to this weekend.
This shot depicts Marke and me in the final stages of setting up the cover photo for the single “Never Say Never” somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. The buzz of neon and fluorescent tubes feels pretty amazing in the middle of a forest.
I’m always so excited to work on band projects like this because it is pretty much the equivalent of getting funded to make crazy art projects.

Things are shaping up nicely for the new Faux Fix record. Here’s a pic from the photoshoot we did with Chris Kuehl in Denver last month (Hair and Make-up by Bethany Johnson). Super-excited to get to share the new tunes with you all!

I had the great opportunity to work with Katie. Super excited to hear the album that is coming out soon!
Marke posted some more behind-the-scenes shots and a more detailed explanation of the Son Lux shoot over at the main Made Shop site. Check it out!

Hey fine folks. Check out the making-of-video for the Son Lux album. What an amazing project to be a part of!!!
NPR* has just officially released The Making of Son Lux’s ‘We Are Rising’ Artwork video on their All Songs Considered page. As I mentioned before we did the entire project in 28 hours (actually a little under) and this video shows the whole process: buying the fireworks, building the set, the photo shoot, and then the full time-lapsed design and layout process, complete with Skype video-chats with Ryan in New York.
It was shot and edited by Michael Chiarelli, who’s one of my favorite editors, and we are so happy with it. It was such a fun, elaborate, and beautiful process. Hope you enjoy this little glimpse behind the scenes.
It’s worth watching full-screen, and—not to be presumptuous—but if you’ve got some headphones nearby, why not put those on as well :)

*I’ve gotta say that being featured on NPR has actually been a life-long dream. Some people might want their work in Rolling Stone or something like that, but for me, it’s always been NPR.
Here’s another detail of the Son Lux cover that Marke and I have been furiously working on. Actually, more ecstatically than furiously.
