Hey Californians… I know there’s been a lot of excitement about Looper recently, but I wanted to let you know that the Mélanie Laurent film I recently scored is going to be playing at the Newport Beach Film Festival as a part of the French Spotlight event.
I heard recently that it will be distributed in the US but this is an early chance to get out and see it. You may recognize the French title (Et Soudain, Tout Le Monde Me Manque) but the US version will be called The Day I Saw Your Heart.
If you live nearby (I think it is playing at Fashion Island?!!?!), go check it out and let me know what you think! Tuesday, May 01 at 8.15pm.
Ryan Lott ( @sonlux ) laying down the piano parts. He’s a little pianist, but boy, can he make it count.
Looper Scoring Sessions, San Francisco
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Ryan Lott on the piano. Literally.
This is, I believe, the first actual audio from the score to be posted. Not that you’ll be able to tell when you hear it in the film, but still.
We’re in a big fancy studio on a nice piano, but really, we’re not that far off from how we made Brick.
Deep in the bowels of Fantasy Studios with Eric and Ryan.
Chamber #4. Which sounds pretty great. Really great.
Back in LA and at work with Master Arranger Lott. Soon we’ll be heading to the studio to record all manner of instruments. We are getting close, people!
Sunday Strings. Working on Looper arrangements with Mr. Ryan Lott.
Arranger and orchestrater Ryan Lott with his meticulously prepared parts. Always a treat to have Son Lux arrangements on the menu. Mmmmmm!
Folks, it gives me great joy to welcome my great friend and frequent collaborator Ryan Lott (aka SON LUX) to tumblr!!!
Make him feel welcome and follow along for a healthy helping of amazing compositions, hip-hop beats and killer off-kilter sounds!
