Here’s a little song I wrote…

Something occurred to me this morning. Will we ever get to hear the "My Heart Will Go On version" of The Fabulist?
Never. Ever.
The Brothers Bloom original soundtrack album Artwork
I was looking through the Bloom stuff to find something today and realized I had forgotten what an amazing job Marke did on the artwork and layout. Sometimes we work together on different album projects, but since this was my own album, I basically just hired him and turned him loose. The result is a beautiful 18 page digital booklet that comes free with the album if you buy it on iTunes.
It’s a shame we haven’t figured out a better way to view digital album art, and I realized that a lot of people who like The Brothers Bloom have probably never seen this stuff. A couple other pages here.
Jonny Rodgers - Swung On A Swing
Happy Friday, Folks.
Check out my good friend and frequent collaborator Mr. Jonny Rodgers as he plays glass and guitar near our house in Connecticut. I know it’s a pain to click on a video in your Tumblr feed, but this one is worth it.
Jonny played on The Brothers Bloom score, the Faux Fix record, and recently he made his wine glasses sing on the new French film I scored (more on that soon). But here, he goes solo with a loop pedal. Beautiful!
One shot, live - this is an excerpt from a documentary that was shot in October about my Wine Glass Music, by the filmmaker Kevin Kelley - documentary coming soon! We’d gone up the CT coast to shoot in some abandoned, broken greenhouses, but the weather turned really sour, so we were forced to take shelter under this portico. We feared was almost too “pretty”, but it ended up being the best shelter we could find from the cold and wet weather. We did this as an extra after a long afternoon of shooting - it was a single take, and I love how the sun began to break through just as we began shooting - what light!

The ending song I wrote for the Brothers Bloom. String arrangements by the ever great Son Lux. I did a few versions of this before settling on this sedated one. Somewhere, there exists what we took to calling the “My Heart Will Go On” version. Bombast doesn’t suit it, trust me.

astudyinvictoria asked:
where could i purchase, or download your sheet music for penelope's theme from Rian Johnson's film The Brother's Bloom

Hi there. Thanks for the interest in Penelope’s Theme. I’ve gotten this question a number of times but unfortunately we don’t actually have official sheet music available. There have been some stabs at it by people online, as well as a piano tutorial that someone posted on youtube though. Hope that gets you close!
