It seems that Chris Jacobs has the power to get all of Tumblr looking at Zach’s paintings.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Chris Jacobs.
Not too shabby. And check that new painting from my brother Zach.
Chris Jacobs sent this to my sister, saying it was the best position to enjoy the painting I sold him. Have I mentioned that Chris Jacobs is awesome?

This morning, for some reason, I stumbled onto Zach’s amazing batch of letters which he wrote to Vilhelmina during The Cinematic Underground tour. These letters were written in place of a band blog, but in them, you can trace a lot of what happened during that time (band fights, crappy shows, personal introductions, our vegetable-oil bus, and Zach’s ramblings, which are always a good time).
I had forgotten about this documentation of Marke playing Karma Police, almost 5 years before Jared’s wonderful account of a similar event. Sometimes lightning does strike twice.
Creativity is not something you can run out of. The more you do it, the more ideas there are. you don’t exhaust your great ideas — ever.

Perhaps the best book review I’ve ever read:
The Bible
by GodThis is probably a really great book, but not if you have to read it nonconsecutively, a few randomly chosen chapters at a time, and then are made to memorize tons of individual verses by rote by your Bible teacher for a grade in a class at a private Christian school which will actually affect your high-school GPA and, conceivably, affect your chances of getting into a good college and ultimately leading a successful life.
But honestly. Imagine reading Harry Potter, all fun and shit, and then being like “Oh shit!” because you remember that you have to memorize large passages of its text and recite them verbatim for a test next week. By the time you hit your sophomore year in highschool, you’d probably be all like, “Fuck you, J. K. Rowling. I don’t even believe you exist.”
If you’re on twitter, I highly recommend following my younger brother @Zucherman.
It’s rare that tweets induce laughter. I woke Katie up this morning with this string of beauties.
Great interview with my brother Zach in the new issue of Spirited Magazine. It’s really one of the most enjoyable interviews I’ve read in a while. You tell me if that is just because it’s my brother.
Also featuring killer photography by Desirea (pennybird), Hair & Makeup by my sister Bethany, and more thoughts with Reva of Gretel.
I’m currently mixing in the studio and it was really nice to curl up on the couch this afternoon and read this. Great job, d.ama and Phil!
